Arrival in Mexico City
We will arrive in Mexico City via Paris on an Air France flight. We'll check into our hotel in the Roma neighbourhood. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Mexico City
Ciudad de Mexico or as it is popularly known CDMX is the capital of Mexico and as we explore its various aspects today we will have an ideal introduction to the Mexican culture. We will start our day with a visit to the historic centre of CDMX with the Palacio Bellas Artes, which is in Zocalo, the main square of the city. Before we stop for lunch we would have visited some of the most important parts of the historic centre including the Templo Mayor Museum, where the Aztecs of ancient Mexico had their capital. Evening is free to walk around.

Mexico City – Teotihuacan – Frida Kahlo’s House
We will dig deeper into the Aztec era as we take a day trip to the impressive Teotihuacan Pyramids out of Mexico city. Our guide will help us understand the Aztec civilization better with the pyramids in view. Return back to the city late in the afternoon and visit the Blue House, where Frida Kahlo, the famous Mexican painter lived. We will end our day in a local restaurant with food and drinks.

Mexico - San Cristobal de las Chiapas
We will take the domestic flight to the city of Tuxla. On arrival, we'll head to the Sumidero Canyon, which is the deepest in Mexico. Taking a boat trip in the river is an unforgettable experience. Later, we will make photo stops on top of the Canyon to enjoy the scenery. We will then drive to San Cristobal, a unique mountain town in the state of Chiapas.

San Cristobal – Chamula - Local
In the morning we will visit the village of Chamula for its unique church which has a wonderful mix of Mayan and Catholic culture. The whole church has over thousand candles lit and kept on the floor. There is no place to sit other than on the dry pine grass on the floor. Even the town of Chamula is deep routed in Mayan traditions, where they believe that taking a picture of a local is like stealing his soul, so no pictures are allowed neither in the church or in the entire town. In the evening, enjoy walking in the old town, San Cristobal, which is perhaps the most colourful town in Mexico.

San Cristobal - Aqua Azul - Misol’ha - Palenque
After an early breakfast, it is time to bid farewell to this mountain town. We'll drive for three hours and enjoy the magnificent scenery along the way. We'll pause briefly at the turquoise waters, or Aqua Azul, before continuing on to the Misol'ha ('ha' in Mayan means water, and 'misol' means stream). Take advantage of the opportunity to wander behind the waterfall. Lunch would be simple and quick after which we will head to Palenque deep in the forest for an overnight stay.

Palenque - Campeche
The Mayan ruins of Palenque are not only famous for their architecture but also for their wild setting in the forest. Early in the morning as the fog rises and you are woken up by the call of the howler monkey and birds the ruins of Palenque would enchant you with their appeal. After visiting the ruins, we'll begin our journey to a town that appears as if it belongs in the 17th century. Campeche, is notable for its well-preserved baroque colonial architecture, and a walled historic quarter. We will reach Palenque in the evening and then take a walk in its charming old town including the sea front which opens up to the Carribean Sea.

Campeche – Merida
After an easy morning we will drive to the capital of the Yucatan Peninsula, Merida. The city also has an interesting town centre with a vibrant market. In the evening we will visit the museum of the Mayan civilization. Dinner and overnight in Merida.

Merida – Cenotes – Izamal (Yellow Town)
We will further explore the beautiful landscape of Yucatan with our first stop being the 3 Cenotes at Cuzama. The ancient Mayan people used the fresh water from these cave ponds of Yucatan as there is no river here. Each Cenote has clear water and if you wish to swim it would be a wonder experience. Later, we will drive to the yellow city of Izamal, where most of the houses are as the name suggests, painted yellow. Lunch would be in a very local restaurant. We will then proceed to drive back to Merida.

Merida – Las Colorados – Valladolid
We will check out and head towards the northern end of the Yucatan Peninsula where the Las Colorados national park is situated. Here the water turns pink due to the certain kind of Algae present in it. We will take our time experiencing this phenomenon and then head back south again to the town of Valladolid. Yet another charming town with a colonial vibe. In the evening enjoy a walk in its Latin quarter.

Valladolid – Chichinitza Pyramids – Cancun – Havana (Fly)
The morning is devoted to visiting the mighty Chichinitza pyramids. We will head there early to avoid the crowds. Our guide will explain the various facets of the Mayan culture in the times when they ruled the land and built structures like these. Later we will head to Cancun to board the flight to Havana, Cuba. On arrival proceed to the town centre for check in.

Havana City tour
In the morning after a leisurely breakfast we will enjoy full day tour of Havana covering the most important sights of the city. The museum of Revolution and the National Capital building are some of the most important sights of this city. In the afternoon we will enjoy lunch in a local restaurant. The evening would be touring the Malecon of Havana to experience the Caribbean sea.

Havana – Vinales – Havana
As we leave Havana behind and drive towards Vinales we will be seeing some of Cuba’s best countryside. Vinales is the home of the Cuban Cigar and amongst its tobacco plantations with lush green fields are the Mogotes. They are steep sided lime stone hills and their presence seems quite remarkable in the surrounding flats. After lunch in the plantation we will take a tour of a tobacco farm and learn how to roll a Cuban cigar. Return back to Havana in the evening.

Havana – Cancun
After an easy morning we will head to the airport to fly back to Cancun. After this short flight we will check into our hotel on the sea. Evening would be spent on the beach.

Cancun – Mumbai
Depart Cancun and fly back to Mumbai via Amsterdam.
