After breakfast, we will explore the small town of Szentendre, which is known for its Art and well-preserved character. Post that, we will drive to Budapest which is divided into Buda and Pest by river Danube. In the afternoon, we will explore the highlights of this beautiful city which includes the Hero Square, House of Terror and the great view from the Castle District after which we will enjoy a dinner cruise on the Danube, viewing this beautiful city by night. Today we will drive to Croatia. As we cross the border from Hungary to Croatia, we will visit the beautiful Town of Varazdin, the ex-Capital of Croatia. We continue on our drive after lunch to reach Zagreb. We will then have a half day walking city tour (4 hrs).
After an early breakfast we will check out and head to the wonder of Croatia, the Plitvice Lakes.
This is a national park with walkways that pass through natural lakes and you can enjoy the waterfalls on the way. After lunch we will proceed to the real country side of Croatia, the Peninsula of Istria, and check in the hotel for dinner. The hotel is situated overlooking the Adriatic Sea in the port city of Opatija.
After a traditional Croatian breakfast, we will spend the day travelling in the interiors. We will taste the truffles (local mushrooms) and visit the beautiful blue coast of Istria. We will have local lunch and then return back to Opatija for a free evening.
Today, we will depart for Slovenia. Our first halt will be at the natural wonder of Postojna caves created by the Pivka River. A train will take us to the centre from where a walking tour will take us through the various Karst Caves formed due to water erosion. After a typical Slovenian lunch, we will head to Lake Bohinj in the foothills of the Julian Alps, the parallel mountain chain to the Swiss Alps. In the evening you have the entire lake to yourself and the only one to share it are the mountains around which form a perfect impression on its clear blue waters.
In the morning we will head to the Vogel Cable Car station to go up the mountain and enjoy the beautiful view of the Lake Bohinj and the surrounding mountains and villages. Later, drive to Lake Bled to enjoy a Gondola ride in the lake and go upto the Church of Assumption in the middle of the lake.
